Customer testimonials

Some of the nice things people have said about us.

Physical examination of shoulder pain and mobility by specialist surgeon
I would summarise my experience with Dr Baring as very positive. I would like to praise him and his team at the level of care and efficiency they provided during and after my recent shoulder operation. I felt I was in 'good hands' at the hospital before and after the procedure.
My recovery was fast, which attests to Dr Baring's expertise in shoulder surgery.

Highly recommendable specialist with a great support team.
Physiotherapist examining patient's shoulder post-surgery during rehabilitation
Mr Baring is a kind and empathetic surgeon.  He has treated me for degenerative changes and, more recently, a fracture.  His treatment of both has been superb.  At my advanced age he has given me pain-free mobility in both arms.
He has also taken an interest in my health generally; he has gone to the trouble of finding for me a specialist for another problem. I cannot speak more highly of his care.

I would like to compliment Mr Baring and his team, on a superb level of attention and service to a recent shoulder operation I had. His communication, attention to my understanding the complex issues and next steps, and, patience in listening to my questions was superb - the operation, and extremely fast recuperation time (which he specialises in I believe) was very impressive.

FAQs

Commonly asked questions about Frozen Shoulder in London

Do I need a GP referral?

No - you can book yourself directly into clinic here

Can I be seen urgently after an injury?

Yes. If you have sustained an acute fracture or dislocation and want a private specialist assessment, please contact the team as soon as possible and we will arrange an urgent appointment. Mr Baring sees patients quickly and can usually accommodate urgent cases within one to two days. If your injury requires immediate emergency treatment, please attend your nearest A&E in the first instance — once stabilised, Mr Baring can take over your ongoing care privately.

Does my fracture definitely need surgery?

Not necessarily. Many fractures of the shoulder and elbow can be managed non-surgically with immobilisation, close monitoring, and a structured rehabilitation programme. Surgery is recommended when a fracture is significantly displaced, when bone fragments are affecting joint function, or when non-surgical management is unlikely to restore full movement. Mr Baring will review your imaging and give you a clear, honest recommendation, including the risks and benefits of both approaches, before any decision is made.

I was treated on the NHS, can I get a second opinion privately?

Absolutely. Mr Baring regularly sees patients who want a second opinion following NHS treatment, whether they are concerned about their diagnosis, their recovery, or the treatment plan they have been given. You do not need a referral and you are not obliged to transfer your care, a second opinion consultation can simply provide reassurance, or identify whether a different approach might produce a better outcome. Bring any imaging, discharge letters, or clinic notes you have and Mr Baring will review everything in full.
